Beginning Watercolor with Jan Finn-Duffy
September 1, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until September 29, 2020
This class is for students brand new to watercolor, for those who consider their skills at a beginner level and those continuing their watercolor journey. Each class will cover techniques and tricks to make watercolor painting enjoyable. The casual class atmosphere is meant to take the stress out of painting with watercolor, and launch a lifelong love of this beautiful medium!
Students will learn about how to use the tools (various brushes and aids), how to control the paint, and how to enjoy the times when the paint is less controlled. We will cover techniques such as wet-on-dry, wet-in-wet, glazing, lifting, feathering, and color mixing. There will be demos by the instructor, exercises for the students, and in-class painting projects with guidance from Jan Finn-Duffy.
It is recommended that the students have their own supplies so that they may practice between classes. But if you are uncertain about investing in supplies before trying a few lessons, please feel free to rent the supplies to be used in class.
Tuesdays, September 1st through September 29th from 1pm to 3pm
Registration ends Saturday, August 29th
