August 28, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - August 30, 2018 @ 4:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 1:00 pm, repeating until August 28, 2018
Have you ever wondered about encaustic painting but didn’t want to be involved with toxic fumes and heat guns? If so, cold wax oil painting might be for you. If you enjoy working with texture, cold wax is another way to develop texture and form in your art. Learn the basics of cold wax painting and experiment with using this method while developing your design skills and starts for new projects. During this workshop, there will be demonstrations to teach basic work with the oil and cold wax process. Bring a readiness to learn new techniques and lots of enthusiasm.
This workshop is taught by Mary Montague Sikes. Sikes has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Her paintings are in the collections of the College of William and Mary Law Library, Media General, Philip Morris, Marriott Hotels, SuperClubs Jamaica, One Capitol Square (Richmond VA), and many more. Her work is also part of numerous private collections in the United States and abroad.
The workshop runs for 3 days from August 28th-30th. Class fee is $135 for the 3 days. Supply list provided upon registration.
