Melanie Chambers Hartman: Common Ground
March 2 @ 6:00 pm - March 31 @ 5:00 pmFree
Our March Exhibition features artist Melanie Chambers Hartman. Hartman lives in Yorktown, Virginia where she paints landscapes en plein air and in her studio. She creates small paintings on location as a way of taking notes. These studies are a reminder of the lighting, colors and values seen at a particular date and time and they become valuable reference tools for creating larger paintings in her studio. She paints the tidal marshes and wetlands of coastal Virginia, rural farms near the Blue Ridge Mountains, the varied terrain and blue skies near Bisbee, Arizona and scenes from inspiring travels abroad.
