Class participants will create flow artworks on canvas with fluid acrylics, learning a variety of techniques from experienced instructor Patrizia Giovanna Smith. Please keep in mind that you will not leave with a finished piece that evening. These works must “cure” undisturbed, for 48-hours. You may return to the gallery to collect your work on another date.
Class participants will learn to create beautiful flow artworks, on canvas, with fluid acrylics. Patrizia will teach techniques that participants will be able to immediately put to use and each participant will leave with their own finished piece. Create a unique piece of art in one evening.
Call the Gallery to sign up: 804-824-9464
Please note: snacks and drinks will not be made available as there is limited time in the flow art process and participants will consistently have their hands/arms covered in paint.
Patrizia Giovanna Smith enjoys her memories of delightful drawings of donuts filling the blank spaces of old envelopes and whales on tourists’ brochures at beaches and later botanically precise plants and technical architecture. She majored in art in high school and received a BA in Fine Arts at William and Mary and an MA in Art Psychotherapy EVMS.
After too many moves as an army brat and several career changes, Patrizia is now happy-ever-after-ing in picturesque Gloucester Courthouse, Virginia. Precise stained glass, drawings, and paintings of marsh wildlife, anatomically correct animals and people have always overflowed her walls and windows. After a 25 year career as an elementary school teacher, Patrizia is currently filling her life with joyous colors and freely flowing paint in her “Flow Art” known as Acrylic Pouring. The meditative act of preparing the perfect density of paints and the absolute magical surprise of each pour has become her joyous addiction. Patrizia would like to print business cards with her motto “Live, laugh, love, pour paint… sleep later”!
