Art Adventure Camp
Middle (Ages 11-14)
Round 1: July 12- July 14
9am-12pm
Join us for a week of artistic exploration for summertime fun! Art campers will learn different techniques and explore different media as they learn about historical artwork and artists. As we cut, draw, paint, glue, play games and interact with each other, children will have an enriching art experience as well as a fun time with new friends! Come join us for a fun-filled week of art adventure!
Georgia O’Keefe
After looking at the beautiful floral works of O’Keefe and learning about her life, students will create watercolor still life pieces based on fresh flowers.
Jackson Pollock
Time to get messy! Students will learn about Pollock’s mid 19th-century new and exciting approach to painting. We will splatter and throw paint in true Pollock style taking home fabulous abstract works.
Katsushika Hokusai
This interesting Japanese artist was one of the first to mass-produce ink block prints of his work, inventing the greeting card. Students will enjoy seeing his depictions of everyday life and beautiful landscapes. We will make greeting cards using colored pencils, origami paper, and stamps.
All materials will be provided by the instructor. Limited spots available. Students may bring a snack and a drink with them.
Registration Deadline: Friday, July 8
Cost per child is $120.
