Taught by Ron Heath, art teacher, carpenter, sculptor, painter and one of May’s Artist in Residence. This class is “a real live wire”. The workshop is designed to help “sculptors of all ages” use simple materials like coated electrical wire, paper napkins, masking tape, and a coating layer of plaster gauze (i.e. plaster cast) to create a small, realistic human figure-rigid or articulated. The figures end up being about a foot tall with a small simple wooden base. A part of Arts on Main’s Artist in Residency Program, this fun filled workshop is for adults and children fifth grade and above. Two day class fee is $40 and scholarships are available.
